Unseen Academicals by Terry PratchettThe Mob Film Company have confirmed, on their website, that Unseen Academicals will be the next Terry Pratchett novel to get the TV adaptation treatment.

At present, there are no details about the productions, such as casting, but David Jason is a firm favourite of The Mob Film Company, so he may reprise his role as everybody’s favourite cowardly “Wizzard,” Rincewind. In a note at the bottom of their “about” page, Mob said;

This year also sees production commencing on the fourth Terry Prachett drama, Unseen Academicals, and The Man Who Invented Christmas, about Charles Dickens writing A Christmas Carol for Channel 4, CBC in Canada and TNT.

Unseen Academicals is latest of Terry Pratchett’s discworld books that is not a young-adult novel, and is also one of the hardest novels to get into for people who are not familiar with the series, so it will be interesting to see what Mob make of it.

Other characters that have previously starred in Mob adaptations of discworld novels include Vetinari, the ruler of Ankh-Morpork, and Mustrum Ridcully, the Archchancellor of the Unseen University.
